Gibson Receives White Coat at LMU-College of Veterinary Medicine

Cody Gibson of Dryden, Virginia, received his white coat at Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM)'s White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2019. The ceremony was held on the LMU main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee, on October 3, 2015.

Gibson is a first-year veterinary medicine student at LMU-CVM. Prior to enrolling at LMU-CVM, Gibson attended Lincoln Memorial University.

The White Coat Ceremony serves to symbolize the pathway toward becoming a doctor, including the knowledge and professionalism students will acquire. The ceremony also enables the College of Veterinary Medicine to affirm its commitment to providing the education and training necessary to help each student achieve his or her professional goals.

LMU-CVM is one of only 30 veterinary colleges in the United States, and one of only two in the state of Tennessee. LMU-CVM's highly competitive program received a total of 654 applicants. Of the 100 new students offered seats in the Class of 2019, 17 percent are male and 83 percent are female. The students of the Class of 2019 come from 26 different states, and twenty-five percent of the students come from the Appalachian region.

Lincoln Memorial University's College of Veterinary Medicine is located on the LMU main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee, with additional academic facilities in nearby Lee County, Virginia.
